Ducati Monster

Maintaining its traditional Monster silhouette, the 696 now looks more muscular than ever. Its wide tank tapers to the thin waistline of a comfortable narrow seat ensuring sure-footed confidence when at the traffic lights. The large diameter Hybrid Trellis frame blends stylishly into an aluminium sub-frame and swingarm while minimalist instrumentation and simple controls at the front of the Monster contrast with twin, bold, Ducati-style mufflers at the rear to enhance its urban-ready image.
The chassis of the new Monster is made up of a new Hybrid Trellis frame with larger diameter tubes directly inspired by the 2007 World MotoGP title-winning Desmosedici GP7 machine. Attached to this is a rear aluminium sub-frame. The front brake system is the envy of its class and becomes the new benchmark for the category with two 320mm discs and four-piston radial calipers.
At the rear, the dual-sided aluminium swingarm draws inspiration from Ducati Corse’s finest racing products in this area. The dash instrumentation is now totally digital and continues the tradition of all Ducati’s latest-generation sport models, guaranteeing lightness, ease of use and a wealth of information. The new exhaust system stands out with its re-routed downpipes that now give the underside of the Monster a cleaner appearance and terminate with twin, bold Ducati-style mufflers. The headlamp unit is characterized by a new triple arc main beam, while the rear light uses modern LED technology.
The engine of the new 696 is an evolution of the previous 695 version. Measuring 696cc it boasts a series of updates and refinements.
Power output gets a 9% boost to 80hp (59kW) and an 11% increase in torque to 50.6 lb-ft. This new engine continues to have the best horsepower per litre ratio of all Ducati’s air-cooled units, and it ensures a smooth and powerful delivery for a relaxed but thrilling ride in all conditions.

Our most powerful air-cooled Monster is driven by the highly efficient and ultra-reliable 1000 Dual Spark engine, delivering 95hp of high torque power. The 1000 DS engine was developed with the specific objectives of increased broad linear power and increased efficiency, and the result is ideal for the S2R 1000. The Dual Spark solution gives a more efficient combustion and boosts power, especially at low and medium rpm, and when combined with advanced fuel injection and computer engine control, the 1000 DS never fails to thrill.

Monster S2R 800
Those who wish to enter the Monster family with a bigger bang, both in terms of styling and performance, need look no further than the S2R 800.
This entry to the high performance SR series Monsters features the exclusive APTC system, ensuring maximum safety on extreme rides thanks to the slipper-clutch action when down-changing. The system also makes city riding much more comfortable because of the reduced clutch lever effort. Its Euro 3 compliant, air-cooled, 800 L-Twin Desmo engine delivers sports-level performance, yet is balanced, reliable and easy to tame, thanks to the racing-derived electronic fuel injection system and computer controlled engine management.

The 695 is a most unique offering - a bike that welcomes new motorcyclists and delivers a level of performance that can also thrill more advancedriders. A Monster 695 transforms a motorcyclist into a Ducatista - a rider whose motorcycle looks, feels and sounds like no other. And to make every twist of the throttle exciting, the new Desmo L-Twin 695 engine astounds with its potently smooth and fluid power.
With the lowest seat height of any Ducati, the riding position of the 695 is one of comfort, control and confidence. The rider's position is more upright as hands reach to a set of raised handlebars that are a bit wider for increased comfort and control. The footpegs strike a comfortable balance between a rearward ‘sport’ position and a forward ‘laid-back’ sport cruiser position. All in all, a rider feels confident and in control aboard a Monster 695.

S4R

The S4R is the top of the range Monster - the most powerful, highest-performance Monster ever. It all starts with the 996 cc Superbike engine and lightweight Superbike-derived trellis frame to ensure the perfect combination of power and handling. A Showa fully adjustable front fork with low friction TiN treatment and a fully adjustable Showa rear shock handle suspension duties. The exclusive Ducati Superbike rising rate, ride height adjustable rear suspension system includes a new single-sided aluminum swingarm. An extraordinarily beautiful “two into one into two” exhaust has been designed for the S4R. With both silencers positioned high and on the right side of the bike, the system has an aggressive and powerful new look.
The S4R boasts a wide array of performance features and is available in a new range of colours: solid glossy black, and either blue or red with a white racing stripe.
The 996 cc, liquid-cooled, Desmoquattro, fuel-injected, L-twin engine is derived directly from our World Superbike champion race bikes. With muscle to spare, the S4R delivers tractable power and torque over the widest rpm range, so you are “on the gas sooner” and shift less.

All the special features of the new model are in line with the acclaimed Monster S4R: aluminium alloy single-sided trellis swingarm, unique progressive rear suspension system with adjustable rear ride height, 5-spoke wheels, exhaust with double silencer mounted high on the right-hand side. And as if that wasn’t enough, the S2R also features oversized tyres and extra ground clearance, so that you can lean even further into the bends. The S2R is available in the aggressive new shades of the 2005 colour range and also features an exclusive APTC clutch system, which ensures maximum safety on the most demanding roads by using a slipper device to prevent rear wheel lock when down shifting.

A Dark version of the Monster S2R is available in the now classic matte black and includes all the essential equipment. Confirming its performance priority, it’s equipped with the exclusive APTC clutch system, which ensures maximum safety on the most demanding roads by using a slipper device to prevent rear wheel lock when down shifting, and enhances riding comfort in city traffic.
The S2R also features oversized tyres and extra ground clearance, so that you can lean even further into the bends.
